Each Mini Original drawing starts among the pages of Erica's sketchbook as a quick graphite drawing. From there each page of paper is hand torn to create the perfect size paper for each drawing. To add a little extra fun to each drawing small pools of watercolor are added to the paper forming fun shapes that are unique to each piece. The sketches are then transferred and hand drawn in graphite to creating a series of original drawings that are similar but each have their own individual personality.
The Marigold flower is October's designated Birth Flower. Marigolds bright color would have you assume they are associated with something bright and cheery. However, in most cultures the Marigold is thought to symbolize despair and grief over a loved one. The bright colors are said to represent sun rays or light paths that guide their departed into the after life. In today's culture, many people now associate the marigold with optimism and prosperity.
