The Capricorn is the ambitious and determined sign. Life for the Capricorn is all about the next project. They can be known to be practical and goal oriented. The Capricorn constellation represents the Sea-Goat who's mythology extends back to the Bronze Age. In the Babylonian culture the Sea-Goat god Ea was the protective god over water, knowledge, and creation. In Greek Mythology the Capricorn relates to Pricus, the father of the intelligent sea-goat race. His children left the water to venture onto the land loosing their ability to speak and think once they did. Pricus attempted to turn back time to avoid the loss of his children but eventually had to let go of them. He was given a home in the heavens as the constellation after to honor his life and his losses. The Sea-Goat is surrounded by the African Violets and Pansies which are the signs designated flowers. These flowers symbolize the faithfulness and free thought, a meaning that is very ingrained in the Capricorn's Story.
